Super A Model 21 Sickle Mower Overhaul

I've got a Model 21 rear mount sickle mower and I'd like to replace all of the guards and knife sections. Where can I get new replacement parts besides CaseIH? Are the Hershel products at Tractor Supply good quality and will they fit? Any help would be appreciated. Also, right now it has smooth knives and serrated ledger plates on the guards. It seems like everything today is the opposite. Is it ok to change this to serrated knives/smooth ledger plates? Thanks

Depends on what you're cuttin' what you want for edges. I cut hay/trash grass with serrated on both ledgers and sections and it cuts fine. For size/fit, strikes me the industry has coded the sections as a Size "A", which covers dimensions of the section and spacing of the holes for the rivets.

Are your guards in that bad of shape? Seems like a lot of replacing! Don't think I ever bought a sickle but what I replaced one or two but never all. Ledgers, yes, and usually the whole knife unit but not the guards.
