Update - Super A Pulling Problem

This continues an earlier thread about my son just spinning his right wheel when he tried to pull yesterday. Normally, when I load the tractor, I do so at home near a hill to reduce the ramp angle up to the dovetail on my tall deckover trailer. Today, when I tried to load the tractor at the showgrounds I could not do this but did get the angle reduced some. However, once the rear tires were up on the dovetail, the right tire just spun away.

Is it possible I have a problem with the left side? Seems it should be helping out as well.

Thanks,

Tony

lightest wheel will spin first. also if tire is over inflated it will spin very easily as tire foot print will be reduced. you might try lightly applying the right brake to transfer power to the opposite wheel.

Are the treads the same and how about air pressure do the brakes drag are you using the cast center on the drivers side and what is your set-up wirh weights.

I don't know if this has any bearing on your particular question or not...just an observation of my own "A" that WAS prompted by your question.

The "center" of RR on my A is cast ( NOT added weights), whereas the center of LR is steel.

This obviously makes the RR heavier than LR and could affect traction. I can't comment further as tractor has not run (under the shed now) in several years and I only used for raking and pulling light utility trailer.

Definitely make sure that you've got the cast center on the right side. If you took it off thinking you'd make the tractor lighter to make a certain weight class, that's your problem.

The engine is offset to the left, making the right side lighter by default. Cubs are the same way, but they're small enough that the weight of the driver pretty much balances them out. A Super A is much larger and heavier, so unless you weigh about 450lbs, it just ain't gonna happen.

Running without that heavy center on the right is dangerous. The tractor will tip over on much of side hill.

The heavy rim is on the right. I cold not keep any additional weights on due to the weight limit. Tires were at 9psi, perhaps they should be lower. Maybe next time we'll put all his weights on and let him pull in a higher class. May not perform that well, but at least he'd probably e moving at least.
