'53 Super H Oil Recommendations?

Just wondering what all you folks think is the best viscosity oil to run in a Super H? The previous owner ran whatever he had on hand. Mostly 15-40. Is that a good one to stick with? Any brands better then others?
Detergent or Non-Detergent? I've read all kinds of articles but still not sure. Figure I better go with experience. Tractor will most likely remain a hobby tractor maybe hitting the road 3 or 4 times a year in Northern Illinois. Thank You!

Use your favorite HD multi-vis oil. 10w30 is fine. 15w-40 is also fine. Most important thing is clean oil (ie. change when apropriate), and filter with oil change.

There are actually a couple of previous posts on this subject. Lot's of opinions here, so what I said above is mine.

as always. IMHO.

been running 15-40 Case IH diesel motor oil in all of mine for quite a few years, no complaints and no oil related failures. Like was said, keep it clean and changed.

Ok guy's. Thanks for all the input. The local Farm and Fleet seems to stock mostly the MYSTIC brand. Was going to get the SAE 15W-40 Super HD engine oil. Says it's for trucks and farm equip.. Synthetic blend. Yea or nea??? Just under $20 for 2 gal. jug. I know it seems trivial but I want to get the right oil and keep using the same oil from now on. The blood of the tractor. Now to find out what oil element and where to get them. Any links? Haven't received my O&M manual I ordered yet. Thanks All!!!
