Damn MICE in my H!!!

OK, I have a question. I have a slight mouse problem. I continually get a mouse nest between the grill and radiator on my '44 H. Tried moth balls and dryer sheets but they still keep coming. I store it in a shed and use it a hand full of times throughout the month. I trap what I can but still have more. A good mouse is a dead mouse. Any ideas on keeping them out of the tractor?

Standard issue. Not available from the factory, but available as a field installation. Two versions of it. 642 539 R1 was the part number for the version that fit up on the nose end. Numbers were the same but R11 for the clutch housing version. That was just for the big tractors. For Cubs they also had 646 643 R1 and . . . R91 for the ones around the brakes at the final drives.

Get yourself some Fly Bait Granuals from Tractor Supply, it's in a Yellow can, and the Granuals are Blue, Put some of that in a can lid, mix it with some Regular Pepsi. Anything that drinks this mixture will be next to the lid in the AM... They will not make it far. Make sure if you have ANY pets that they can not get anywhere near it, as they will die too. I've used it several times and it works great....

I don't keep any cleaning rags out in the open in my mini-barn for that reason. This was in the fan shroud on my garden tractor and I was wondering why the engine was getting hot when plowing the garden. I had to pull the head in order to get into the fan shroud. Pulling the engine would've involved a lot more work. What I couldn't snake out I used compressed air to blow out the rest along with a few skeltons. Hal

Those mice have migrated from the clutch housing, where International installed them at the factory. You just need to find a way to get them to return to the clutch housing.

Had a problem in my shed for years and nothing worked. Finally tried a liquid repellent. Called Repels All from TSC. Comes in a spray bottle and smells bad but worked very well. I now spray a squirt every time I lock up the shed and the little beasts seem to have gone elsewhere. Good luck, Allan.

It seems that we now have another meaning for the term "mouse pad".

If IH installed those mice in the clutch housing, where can I find their part numbers? Would it be under attachments, or are you not that fond of them? After all these years and generations, would the "R" suffix be into three digits?

If you installed a squirrel cage treadmill behind the grill, perhaps they could run your engine cooling fan. Might pick up a couple of MousePower on the dyno.

OK, I have enough of this.
