Know the Farmall F 30 had a bigger engine, but what about the rest of the tractor. Were gears and drawbar heavier also. Was wondering if parts would interchange.

F-20 had 221ci,F-30 had 283 ci.heavier drawbar,bigger pto,heavier rearend/trans,taller stature,etc.

About a thousand pounds more metal in a 30. The governors and mags are the same, oil filter and base, the seat and seat support are the same, the brake cable pulleys are the same. Other than the sediment bowl and some misc. bolts and fittings everything else on a 30 is about 20% larger and almost nothing interchanges. An F20 drawbar will fit a F30 but they have different hole patterns for the drawbar braces.

brake cables are the same??????? WRONG!! better go measure them

an F-30 is longer than an F-20, plus the springs are quite a bit larger on the end of the cable

One of us misunderstands 36F30 answer. To me he says the pulleys are the same without including the cables.

(quoted from post at 10:51:58 08/07/10) Help, will a F 20 carb work on a 1020 from 1929.

Short answer for Mike. No the 10-20 used the model R side draft carb. The F20 is an updraft carb.

I also meant only the pulleys not the cables, I did however forget that the hand hole covers, radiator cap, and oil pumps are the same. Surprised OldF20 missed that, he's pretty passionate about these old girls.
