farmall super c steering

i am taking apart my super c and the steering has allot of play. so i was just wondering how to get that steering rod out of the gear box, do i push it or pull it out?

Removing the large nut it will screw rite out. If theres end play in that shaft the bearing needs replacing along with new seals and bushings and it will steer like new again. I have rebuilt several all with good results then use 90wt to refil.

after you take the nut off dosnt the shaft have to come out? so if u were looking at the front of the tractor ude screw the nut off (already did) then ude pull the shaft am i corect?

Tuen it and it will screw rite out if you go the wrong way the wheels will turn then just turn the other way and it will screw rite out.

The shaft and worm are one piece. They come out as a unit. You remove the coupling in the shaft on the back side (There is a roll pin and a woodruff key) where the universal joint is in the shaft. Once the coupling is off, the shaft and worm will screw out the front of the steering box.
