IH 624 (724?) - Power Steering Ball Joint

Hello.

Over the weekend the ball joint that threads onto the power steering cylinder on my german built IH 624 sheared off at the stem where it connects to the steering knuckle arm.

I"m looking for a replacement, and I"m hoping that someone here can confirm my understanding that the 624 and the 724 are the same tractor (except for a larger engine in the 724).

The online Case-IH parts locator website doesn"t even list a 624, but does show a 724. On that parts listing, part no. 3141532R91 seems to be the right part (it looks the same as Part No. 25 on Figure 266 - Power Steering).

Thanks in advance!
Corey

Thanks JimB2.

Am I correct in assuming that the steering parts from the 724/824 should work on the 624?

Corey

Hi Corey, I would assume so. There were a few 624s around our neighbourhood and my cousin had an 824 and I believe only difference was the engines, 624 had D-206 and 724 had D-239 and 824 had D-246.

There are some 624s and 824s at this salvage yard:

Thanks again JimB2. I've ordered the part from the 724 parts list from my local Case dealer, and should know in a few days if the part will work on the 624.

Cheers,
Corey
