350 lp regulator problems

I have a nice 350 lp that does not run very good. I bought it and drug it out of a barn where it had been for the last twenty plus years, and got it running. Tractor ran well , but started getting harder to start. I bought a regulator kit from the guy in OK, and installed it, but nothing changed. I sent it and another regulator off to have checked. Got them back and you have to choke the heck out of it and eventually it will start and it runs well, but you have to leave the choke on. I tried two different regulators, and carburetors and they are all pretty well the same. What can I do? I can not find any one that works on these ensign systems.

Check for good suction at the back of the carb. I had one do the same way and it was a cracked intake manifold on the inside to the exhaust side. Worked on it for a week rebuilding Lp system then complete tune up and still the same thing. Finally checked for good suction at back of carb and there was none, pulled the intake and it had burned through on the inside to the exhaust side sucking air.
