300 utility pto diameter

Can anyone tell me the diameter of a 300 utility pto shaft (the splined end where implements attach). Thanks.

All 540 PTO's are 1 3/8 inch as far as I've ever known.

On the 300U it is the new standard size 1-3/8 and is now the industry standard size and has been since some time in the late 40s or early 50s. Now there are still a few that do not fall into that standard like the Cub but that is just the few smaller ones

Sorry nope not all 540RPM PTOs are or where the new standard size 1-3/8. That standard did not come about till the early 50s and many tractors before then had the smaller 1-1/8 PTO. Farmall was one of the one that used the 1-3/8 more commonly then some of the others like Ford

Thanks Old. I suspected it may be, but I wasn't 100% for certain. The CaseIH parts finder didn't specify the diameter.
