400 side frame weight

What is the going rate for a 400 side frame weight? There"s one on a auction coming up. Only one - not a set. Thanks.

I'd say that one is worth scrap price, maybe $0.10 a pound. If it has to be shipped, it has negative value. Two of the same side don't make a pair so you will have to really luck out to find somebody who has a lonesome opposite side weight . Prolley never happen.

I have an extra pair of SMTA, 400-450 frame weights if you want to do business. No, I will not break up a pair, wardner at peoplepc.com

On the other hand, I guess I could sell you the missing weight but you could get both my weights for the same money as the one weight. I just won't ship the duplicate weight. Are you beginning to see how stupid buying one weight would be. Do you buy your boots one at a time?

Found one under some things at a salvage yard once. Gave $35 for it. Took some time but found another to make a set. The last one cost me $100.

It depends on why he wants weights, if for show one won't do if for work one weight is better than none.

It also depends on who wants to buy a single instead of a pair. He got it bought for $20, which is a steal in my book. One of the frame weights from my 300 spent over 30 years AWOL, I would have gladly paid that much for a single, right up to the moment we found it in the pasture while looking for thistles.

which side did you get bought?? i have one orphan weight i would sell, but ill have ot go see which side it is!

Wardner you are working to hard make a sale. You said he was being stupid by buying only one. Half a good buy is better than no buy at all. I have been running one front wheel weight on my Super H for years. It works fine. Now who is being stupid?

(quoted from post at 06:17:51 10/19/10)Half a good buy is better than no buy at all.

Half of a pair of weights is basically worthless. Nearly anybody can substitute the poundage by going to their scrap pile and bolting something to the front of their tractor. That one weight can never be sold locally. One weight might sell on eBay, with its national audience, to complete a set but few will be willing to pay the shipping.

A pair of weights has significant value because they are relatively rare. If I was serious about selling my extra set, they would be gone with a phone call or two. I left my email open but was not contacted. I think it is highly unlikely they would sell from a post here on YT. My asking price and shipping would preclude any deal.

See what I mean?

Wardner, few may be willing to pay the shipping, but all it takes is ONE.

It's worth $200 plus shipping to some nut with more money than brains, and a tractor he's loading up with rare accessories.
