350 LP transmission

My 350 LP that I bought recently locked the transmission up in high gear. After I rocked it back and forth a bit it came out and was able to move again.
Then it locked up again in reverse and same deal by rocking it I was able to slide it back into neutral. Now I hear a noise in the trans while it is moving.
What is the problem and where do I look first.

Not Good ! It could be a lot of things. Rear end, TA. Most likely the TA. For sure it needs to come apart. Sorry!

Is the noise there with the clutch released in neutral? If it is you probably broke a tooth on the constant mesh gear in the front of the transmission. You can remove the belt pulley drive assembly or cover plate to see inside the transmission.

If the noise is there only while moving the problem most likely will be in the final drives or ring and pinion gears. Don't overlook the possibility of of a loose wheel causing noise.

I checked the wheels and every thing is tight. It only makes the sound when tractor is rolling. It does not make the sound with the tractor in neutral. The sound resonates from in front of the shift lever. Someone suggested a problem with the T/A is possible.

Thanks for all your assistance
