What's a 350 LP worth

I found a 350 LP that's in really good condition. Narrow front. Needs paint,of course. The engine is solid, no smoke, no blowby. Power steering good, TA works, IPTO works fine. It has the proper LP head and manifold on it. Rear tires are about 90% and not cracked. Oil pressure about 70. Sheet metal excellent. All it needs is paint and maybe some front tires. I just plan on painting it up really nice and re-selling it. What would this tractor bring with a good coat of paint? Is it worth $2250 as described above? Thanks, Dan

The price seems good to better than good. After a 1000 dollar paint job it would be worth 1000 more. Jim

You would make more money if you parted it out. The head is worth good money, the intake and exhaust is worth good money, the block, tires, radiator, etc. Check it out I think you will be surprised. Good Luck Bob

I disagree respectfully with BobZ in every detail. Though I do not worship tractors, I do not believe we need to be dismantling them when they are as prime as that one. The value of a human in elements is less than $2.00, but donating hearts, lungs, livers, and kidneys is usually considered only after the brain is dead, not just malfunctioning. Jim

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I understand the benefit of parting one out, but, this tractor is in too good of condition to take it apart. I don't want to just trade dollars, but, I sure hate to see this beauty just sit there in the sun. Looks like I have a decision to make. Thanks again, Dan...

Blackland Dan, That tractor should be well worth what you are saying if all points are equal.....But till you get it home and check it out there is slim to little chance you will break even doing what you say. The cost of a paint job will run close to $1000 to $1500 after paint. That is not figuring all your time either.
$2250 may be too high, If you could get it in the $1500 range then you have got wiggle room but, at $2250 then + the cost of a well done paint job the margin is tight to make real money, over just the cost of breaking even.
If you plan to keep it for a few yrs then that is another matter, then Go For It.
Hope this helps!

Please send me an email if you buy the tractor and want to sell it or even if you don"t decide to buy it. I may be interested. Thanks, Paul.

Thanks, John. I'll probably go ahead and get it just to get it back in circulation. I don't need to make a lot off it. I'll put some new clothes on it and see what happens. I usually take them to tractor pulls and advertise them for sale. It works well, especially if they pull well. Actually, I'd be ok with breaking even just to put it back to work.

Paul, it looks like I'll go ahead and get it, but, if I don't, I'll certainly let you know where it is and even get some pics for you if you want them. Anything to get her a good home. She's just sitting there and it's driving me nuts. Dan

Hey Worm,
I think that if you like it buy it, there was only 242 made, {row crops} I have one that I put paint on and I think there a sweet little tractor.

If it were me, and it ain't, but if it were, I think I'd bring it home, make sure ALL the mechanicals are in order, and then price it at $3,500. Let someone else invest the $1,000 to $1,500 for the paint.
