Identification - Farmall B ?

Haven't posted here in quite awhile, but I do check in from time to time.

Anyway -

I rescued this little jewel today from going to the scrap yard. Literally. Loaded it off his trailer and on to mine in the road in front of the scrap metal place. Cost. $0.00. Just told him I liked to restore old tractors, and he gave it to me.

It's pretty rough, and missing some parts. Engine is definately stuck.

Problem is, I don't really know what I ended up getting. It looks like a Farmall B perhaps ?

Check the Serial Number on the block. It's up front near the rocker arm cover, on the side opposite the carburetor. That will enable you to determine the date of manufacture. It should have been on the seat support plate, but you don't have any.

Thanks for the input. I haven't looked it over very good yet. Not that I would have known where to look for a serial number anyway. Maybe I can scrap off some blue, yellow, red and green paint and find it !!

James - I guess I could drive to W. VA. but I have pretty expensive taste when it comes to lunch. :)

Yes it is a B. I have one identical to it; even with the same style seat!!! I am actually using my B as a parts tractor as it was stuck when I bought it too. If you decide to part it out, I will give you $80 for the front grill/nose piece.

I don't think I'd call that pretty rough. Other than the hood and the wrong seat, it looks pretty decent to me.

I am thinking that it is the right seat because I have a Farmall B with the same exact seat. Never have seen another though.....Maybe it is a rare optional seat. What are the chances???

I have a 1947 BN with that type of seat. I believe the seat is a monroe eazy ride. I've seen pictures of them. I was told they were a popular after market add on.

Ok, well thank you very much for the info!! Would you happen to know if they are of any value at all?? I am parting my B out, and would like to know if its something worth keeping, or if I was to sell it what it is worth. THANKS>
