injector pump leak

I'm getting fluid in the crankcase, it is not water, I think it is diesel but after draining about three quarts out it is not thin like I though it would be. I'm losing some HYD fluid but can't see how it could come from the hyd pump? I had this problem with an oliver 77d, and it was the lift pump, kit fixed it. I don't think this 400 has a lift pump, looks like gravity flow? Can anyone HELP? If it is the injector pump how hard is it to fix? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like hydraulic pump front seal leaking. You will need new seals in pump.Don't let dealer talk you into a new pump.I have up to date part numbers for all pump seals and o-rings.Scott

A 400D certainly has a "lift" pump, mounted right on the end of the injection pump. If the primary pump seal is bad and the seal on the injection pump (other end) is also gone then fuel can end up in the engine oil.

Fuel may or may not be in the oil based on the description. Sounds like hydraulic oil is.
