Happy New Year to All,

After removing the 4 long bolts holding the PTO unit on, is there any secret to pulling it off the tractor? I am having a heck of a time...it is loose but hanging on. Do I need a puller?

Thanks, as always, in advance.

Paddy

You should not need a puller, just use a couple of pry bars, there is a large O-ring that goes around the unit and seals against the tranny case, the O-ring is dragging and making it hard to remove.

Also, keep in mind that there should be a shaft and coupler in there too that will be loose as well once you get the PTO out. Keep track of em.

the shaft has 2 couplers if you loose them in there it may tear up your bull gears, also put the tractor on a steep angle so you won't loose your oil .
