Super A Exhaust

Hey Guys,

One quick question, when I start my Super A the exhaust is
crystal clear and transparent. No blue tint at all. When I rev the
engine up quickly, it shows a little white smoke for just a split
second and then goes back to the clear exhaust color. Is this
brief white smoke a problem? Again it happens very fast when
you rev it up and then dissapears

Thanks alot

I would have to agree, don't worry about it. If it is smoking constantly, backfiring, weak under load, that is another story. But if it runs and works (meaning handles a load) fine then I would be pretty pleased. You want to see worrisome smoke I got a couple around here....

When you first start it the muffler is cold, and the moisture in the exhaust condenses on the inside of the muffler. When you rev it up, the extra heat turns that condensation to steam, which comes out as a short white puff.

At least that's my guess.

Leave it alone!!!!!! We all wish we could get ours running that clean and still have the power. LOL

I agree with the previous poster's, not a problem. It could also be a small bit of oil working it's way down the valve stems......which is actually a good thing. Ford V-8's from the 70's were notorious for a small puff of white smoke when rev'd before they were up to operating temp. a very small amount of oil needs to "seep" along the valve stems, otherwise they would seize up.

Nothing to worry about. enjoy your tractor and enjoy your sleep.......as in not losing any over this.
