does anyone have a picture of a factory pto delete cover for a farmall m. im sure you could order one without a pto......right?

I believe if you check parts book, you will find that the front bolster top plate is the same as the pto delete plate.

They will work fine bolster plate has small flat spot and at least some of the PTO plates were perfectly round.

Hmmm...that is interesting, I've spent many years, off and on, around Farmall M types and never knew that about the interchangeability of those covers. I presume you mean the top cover over the steering gearbox. I have seen a couple of M's without PTO's over the years but never noticed that. Does this condition prevail over all M's or just the early ones with the small PTO shaft and the disengaging clutch inside the rear end housing?

I learned this from salvage yard operator few years back, he said a puller came by wanting PTO opening cover for M and he told him he did not have one. Customer told him yes you do steering gear cover will fit, said he had been in salvage business for years and did not know that. The opening in housing is same for all 3 PTOs.

My SMTA is totally different. The cover is a cast unit with a machined flange that goes inside the hole. There is a HUGE o-ring around this machined area.
