856 power steering

just got a 856 and the power steering is slugish it will move a little bit with no problem but to steer it all the way it is slow and the steering wheel is hard to turn. it dosent matter what the rpms are at. is the steering moter going out or is it a weak hyd pump? it seemed to lift all the equipment fine. any ideas thanks

The 856 has 2 pumps, 1 for the 3 point hitch and remotes. The other pump run the steering, brakes and the TA. Before you start changing pumps. I would change the hydraulic fiter. I would make sure your spindles are free and turning. sometimes the front end does not get greased and this makes the steering to tight to turn free.
