What dose an complete H motor weigh ? Would a normal engine stand work or should i just build one . some of those stands wont hold up a small v8 very well .
 
I don"t know the weight but they seem considerably lighter than a small block chevy. My engine stand is nothing special and the H engine didn"t strain it at all.
 
Put a jack between the lower leg of the stand and the balancer if you think it is too heavy.

I've had some very heavy big blocks mounted on those little engine stands.

I bought one H with a bad trams for 300.00 they were gonna haul it to the scrap yard .a buddy said he had a good trany and he would deliver it . It showed up the tractor was complete with a even nicer hood than the nice one i had . just need to join the two together . even a

An easier way would be to split the front half from the donor and pop it on your tractor. Also, why don't you just fix the rear end in the tractor? Unless it split the case it isn't too hard or expensive.
 
Thats what im gonna do . the cover was left open and alot of parts were missing . the other tractor has a stuck motor and thats what the stand is for . lots of spare parts to go through . Sold one rear casting allready so the tractor has gotten cheeper . should be a fun tractor to pass the time in the shop .

Gotcha, I think you should have that $300 tractor for free eventually. You could scrap it and get your money back.
