574 hydraulic issues

I have a 574 that bought a while back. It sat for several years.Got it running , changed fluids and filters. The screen by the filter keeps clogging with dark reddish brown material. What color is the brake lining on it? It looks the same color as the paint they coat the inside of the transmission with.

Does the parking brake work? Those tractors have a reputation for eating the parking brake band because it was left on. The pieces clog the filter over and over again until you flush out the whole system. The service brakes will do the same thing, but the parking brake is the more likely suspect.

parking brake works and looks ok. I had housing off and flushed transmission.

I don't think its your brakes, I think that is rust particals that are plugging your screan and its coming from all the gears that were not submergied in the oil while the tractor sat, My 504 did that several times when i pulled it from the frence row and got it running.
