1206 Yellow????????

While pressure washing my newly acquired 1206 I noticed that the red paint was coming off the engine block. Can someone tell me if I have a problem?? The original color of this block is yellow! You think that this is the original or a replacement block? I know that a number of engines for the industrial applications were yellow and that they made an industrial version of this tractor. Were they all yellow and then repainted to the agricultural colors? Runs great except for a minor oil leak. Just a point of curiosity. LarryT

Our 706 had the same color underneath the red, They used a yellow type primer on some,I've been told, and then painted the red over it.

This engine was made in Chicago suburb named Melrose Park, this was actually IH Construction Division plant/factory. Most everything that came out of there was painted yellow or primed yellow.
