Have international 806 D, my headset came in and I can't find out what star drive to buy to remove headbolts. Appriciate any help.

A piece of modeling clay, or soft wood driven onto the bolt head, will make an impression. then take that with to fit the tool. Jim

They're known as as Torx bits and any of the tool carriers such as Sears, Mac & Snap-on should have it. GM used bolts on their caliphers that used a torx bit to remove them. Hal

I never saw an 806 with torx head. Early ones had half inch internal square drive. Then they went to conventional 6 point hex head. Might have 12 point which take a regular 12 point socket. Never saw them on 806 either.

Appriciate feedback, the splines are internal it looks like what some would call a cap screw head bolt. I believe that I am going to try the wood impression first. I do not have any modeling clay for an impression.

Appriciate feedback, I had already tried Snap-on online they said that I needed some kind of a starting point to decide the size of the tool.

Wonder, if I could use some liquid rubber to get a good impression. If I clean up the bolt and then apply a light coating of oil then back fill bolt head and allow to sit till it hardens up?

The wooden dowel tapped into the hole is easier and will be just fine. Liquid rubber will take days to dry, and might stick to the bolt. Put a drive screw into the hole point up and fill it with wax. (it should be oily enough) then pull the screw out. Jim

The headbolt is internal, it looks like it has eight points, researching your suggestion also.
Thank you for the suggestion.

The heads on those bolts are 1/2 inch, double square, female.

You can find female sockets without too much trouble but I have never found a source for the male driver. What I did is take a short 1/2" drive extension and grind the end flat so that it fit into the bolt head farther so that it would not twist off all the ball retainer. If you are careful you can remove and install them without too much damage.
