400 lp head

Whats the going rate for a 400 lp head? Looking at one guy just pulled off, looks ok, he says make offer wont give price. Dont need a deal just fair price. Thanks!

at one of the parts sites they want 1045 without valves but rebuilt .I'll give you the site if you open email

If D Slater doesn't answer this thread, I'll try to take his place, but with less precision.

Most of the 400 LP heads are the same as the gasoline heads. You need a 450 LP head to have something special and valuable. I think that some of the very last 400s used the special head.

My W-400 LP with serial number 1723 uses the gasoline head.

Goto the CaseIH parts site to get the appropriate casting numbers.

if you say the head is rebuilt then it pretty much has to have the valves with it . meaning they are ground or new, seats as required and ground, and guides as required, and spring tension checked . also would be checked for cracks. what is he referring to by being rebuilt? rebuilt is ready to bolt on block.
