MD tranny Update

Thank you to all who answered my post on MD transmission failure. Took off belt pulley delete plate to take a look. Found half a tooth broken off the constant mesh gear. (Other half intact.) Was able to fish out the other half with a magnet. Guess it just failed after 60+ years. This gear chunk could possibly have been floating around in there for quite some time, or not. Anyway, I know what the problem is. Thanks again for responding.

Somebody else just had the same problem with an H.

Where are you located? Let's pop the top this weekend. I guess I have to wait for my head to come back.

I am glad uou took the advice not to drive it into service. Sevier damage would have resulted. Jim
