Hey guys, have you heard of or can tell me what a 403c inline 6cyl engine was used in? Was it from the truck line or an industrial eng. I can't find any info for a 403. It's stamped on the block 403c then the serial # under it. It looks just like the C221 to 301 tractor engines. I have so far only seen pictures of it in the tractor, not yet in person.

Thank you

I can't help you with a 403. Frankly, I can't see how a 282 stays together with four main bearings. That comment also applies to the bored and stroked M and H sized pulling engines with three main bearings.

It's good to see that you gave D Slater top billing. He deserves it. I am not in his league. I am essentially a tractor user/modifier and metal fabricator. I don't have anywhere near the lifetime IH experience that he has.

it is probably a 263 out of a 403 combine. i have seen several stamped that way.

Well, now I'll have to look at the 263 in the 403 combine we have and see if its stamped like that.
