706 brake pistion reinstall??

on my 706 gas I will loose 3pt and power steering. if I pull the 7/8ths plug out (left side if sitting on tractor it seems to air lock?) there is a piston valve and a compression spring behind it about 3in long. When running the tractor with out the piston installed i have power steering and 3pt but no brakes. now i"m unable to push the spring and valve in far enough to start threading in the plug. any ideas??? i was thinking a porta power but that seemed over kill...

thanks!

I think what you have apart is the pressure regulator valve in the MCV. Without it there will be no pressure to operate the brakes. The steering has a priority oil flow with it's own pressure regulator. The 3pt has a separate pump and hydraulic system.

There should be two springs, one inside the other. If the inner spring is still in the MCV assembly it may be keeping you from installing the larger spring all the way into the port.

ok i will look at the diagram closer and stick my magnet in there and see if i can't pull out a 2nd spring. i'm about and 1 1/2 inches from getting the plug back in.
