frame weights

Fellows, Would a 3 pc set of front frame weight from Farmall 230 be the same and fit C and SC?
I can't find the part # in my book.

The part no's. for the front frame weights for the Farmall 200 and 230 are 361158R1 (L/H) and 361159R1 (R/H) and they each weight 86 pounds. These same weights will fit on a C and Super C tractor. There are only two weights (one L/H and on R/H) used on the C, SC, 200 and 230 models. The Farmall and International 240 tractors can utilize three on the front and are quite difficult to find and they will not fit on the tractors you mention in your thread as they are quite different. Hal, This is a 3 pc set 2 side and one front. If the sides weights fit why not the front?
I thought they would kit. 230 and C are same for front mounting bolts. oldiron29

Can you post a picture and I'll look in my part books for what you have. The Super C along with the 200, 230 and 240 part catalogs I have only show a two piece set for the C, SC, 200 and 230 while a three piece set is shown for the 240. On the 240 set the front piece is used on several other IH models like the very common 460 and 560 as well but the side frame pieces are just unique to the 240 models and maybe the 340 Farmall only. It would be interesting to see what you really do have. The part numbers for the front frame weights for the 240 tractors are 371389R1 L/H, 371390R1 R/H and the center weight is 371202R1. Check your weights for part no's. if you cannot post a photo if possible, Hal.

The front cultivator bolt patterns for the C, SC, 200, 230, and 240 were identical. The front grill for all but the 240 was much the same. I do not recall any additional bolt holes in the front of the 240 that were not present for the others. I suspect the front weights would work on any especially if the front weight bolts to the two side weights for the 240.

I have the 3 piece set on my Farmall 340, the front weight is the same as the weight on 460 and 560s. The side weight will fit C,SC,240 but maybe not the front one because it bolts to the sideone, depends on with of tractor. Hope this helps Kory

I have front frame weights for both models a Super C and a Farmall 240. Those for the 240 are much heavier but I think the main reason IH changed the part no's. and introduced the newer heavier weights is due to the contour of the tractor fronts but not certain as my weights are not close together and not going to remove them for a side to side comparison. Also, the heavier weights used on the 240 might be because the 240 uses the large size fast hitch sockets and can move larger heavier implements then the Super C. Just speculations at this point, Hal.

Hal; you are correct on the part #'s for the 40/60 series tractor weights and man are they pricey. I had a stupid spell last fall and almost bought two fronts for $175 per weight; glad I stopped and the only other fellow bidding got them. Last week single fronts sold for over $200 on ebay. I have front wheel weights I can put on and got another set of rears - splits - last month. The side weights are a scarcity.
