Steps for a Farmall 240 NF Row Crop - Anybody Make Them??

Got my Farmall 240 home this past weekend and it is certainly a long step up to the running board to get to the seat. Has anyone seen a step to attach to the tractor so these legs where the spring has done sprung can still easily get on the tractor? If not, I think I can come up with a design and have something built which would work fine using existing holes and mounts on the tractor but would like to consider something already available if possible. Thanks for your responses and suggestions, Hal.

Farmallhal; I was at a tractor boneyard last summer near Evansville, Wisc. and on the 'showroom floor' they had a pair of single steps from an 806. Just bought one to see if it would bolt up easily. Yup, to the cover plate (pump mounting flange assembly 370 890 R11 slightly below and ahead of the running board) on the left side of my Farmall 340. I don't recall if the 240 has this torque tube plate. It just needed two longer bolts and four washers. Several emails and a couple phone calls and they set the other step aside for me. $15.00 per booster step. Wonderful!!

Thanks Al for the lead and I'll check my tractor tomorrow - I did look in my Farmall 240 parts catalog and 370 890 R11 isn't used on the smaller tractor. I'll see if something appears scaled down similar to what you found. Thanks for the lead, Hal.
P.S. Got a call from the body shop late this afternoon and the battery cover is ready to be picked up. I am just having it primed at this time and will paint to match tractor later. Thanks again always for that cover, Hal.

Al, I looked at the CaseIH website and I think I saw the item you mentioned as it was a plate on the left side held on with (10) 3/8" bolts. If this is what you are referring too there is nothing similar on the Farmall 240. I happened to be on my way home from town this morning and took a route I haven't for some time and saw a Farmall 240 parked at a building that was being built. I stopped and looked it over real good and they had a step (farmerized and welded) to the foot rest. I wouldn't do that but there are some bolts which hold the foot rest and something could probably be made up and utilize those bolts for attachment which I think would be secure and supportive enough. There is nothing on the side of the torque tube which I think I could easily attach a step too like on your 340.
I picked up the battery cover this morning and slick as a new one on the outside. I will need to clean up the inside a little in a blast cabinet and put some primer on it until I am painting the sheet metal. The body shop primed the outside after the repair so we are good to go with that part. Thanks much and hope all is well, Hal.

Do you want me to make some for you one side or both. I agree another step is needed . Ive sold mine but they havent come for it yet so i have a pattern.

Worthington Ag Parts - They have locations all over North America. (Maybe not Mexico, but they do have some in Canada)

Gene, thanks for the offer and I would certainly like to explore that possibility. Do you have some photo's you can email me? I will only consider something that is fastened to the tractor with bolts and not interested in something that needs to be welded to the tractor. Either using existing holes or bolt locations on the tractor for direct attachment or attachment to some type of adapter plate using existing hard points on the tractor. You probably know I'm an originality type and don't want to modify the tractor from an original but a step is certainly needed for these legs. I probably only need something for the left side (clutch side) as that is how I usually mount my tractors as there is usually less "operative clutter" on that side. My email is open so please send a note and photos if you will. Thanks again, Hal.
