86 series IH tractor rear frame pump gaskets

the suction seals on rear frame pump collaspes to often on 1086 & 1586. we use a blue colored flat type washer with a regular O ring around it recomended by IH dealer. thanks for any help.

The casting might be not milled flat on one of these but not both, put a straight edge on the housing vertically, was thinking that this happened on 66 series more times. The oring should be a class 5 rubber or above. You might try a teflon (the blue hard rings) inside & outside also. This would happen on the tractors with 2250/2500 psi system relief cartridge more times also.

This is strange, I have not ever had this quirk, these systems are the same from 706 to 1586 basically, sounds like a plugged filter or Hytran dirty, is this a gear pump style or PFC piston pump, a series of these 86 only were made, IH finally told us to convert to gear pump. Filter quality issue maybe, they made some hi filtration for clean-up but needed to be changed after short time. I was in IH/CNH service for 47 years , not sure what to tell you.
