Thank You! THANK YOU! Cub Runs

Loads of thanks to all who helped me work thru the timing issue with my Cub - apparently firing on the exhaust stroke.

I went thru all the steps again this morning including "thumbing for pressure" on cylinder 1. Then carefully bumping the engine with the hand crank to get it TDC. When I then looked at the rotor, I knew it was 180 degrees off. So, I corrected that.

Then picked up my new manifold and installed it.

Then poured gas into all 4 plug holes, installed plugs, then pulled the starter rod.

That baby fired up ran for 10-20 seconds and sounded BEAUTIFUL!!

Time and again you folks told me what to do and it seems that I never got things quite right until this AM. Thanks VERY much to each of you who assisted - and for your patience.

After I receive the carb, rebuilt, I'll gas her up, check essentials then, hopefully, go for a slow and short ride. Will post a before and after photo when all is well and ready.

You are welcome. It is our pleasure to have your success be our collective purpose. (I am glad you tried one more time, The only thing I forgot last night was to make sure your throttle was wide open and that at least 5 solid compression strokes were used on each reading. But because the manifold was not on that made no difference.) Jim
