f 30 cables

I have seen brackets on the frame that hold up the steering-brake to frt. wheels cables I do not have them ,but think I would like to .We had a picker on it and maybe they had to be removed? Can anyone tell me?

I have the steering cables on my F-20.I was told many years ago that they were used when you had cultavators on the tractor. From what i was told when you turned the steering wheel it applied the brake in the direction you were turning.

Yes there is bracket that holds the cable. There is a pulley on both front coners for the cable to run over. do you have the bracket that the cables hook to on steeringin the front of tractor?

I have all the pieces (i think) of the brake steering system (pulleys and cables) on a parts F30 back home in Nebraska. Let me know if you are interested.

I got my first F-20 at age 19. Once I was plowing our garden and when I came to the first turn I turned it short, the cable brakes kicked in, the wheel spun and hit my L thumb where it mounts in the palm of my hand. Ever after, I can dislocate my L thumb without pain. It was sure painful for little while when I did it. Ive had a 1/2 doz 20s, and 2 30s. Wish I could afford another 30 now, but im getting too old to start one. Would LOVE to have one with a starter on it. & hydraulics

Rusty your original brake cable guides had to be removed to mount the corn picker and usually were not put back on. If you want an original set they are the same for the 20 and 30 and should be easy to find.

The cornpicker cable guides are long galvanized pieces that pin on and are really hard to find Here's a pic (in the wrong location) of a set on a F20.

And here is a scan from my 22B picker manual showing the heat shield and cable guide parts. Part #4

Thanks for pic s very interesting , had manifold
cover once but not cable holds I have never saw
those before . I ll make some calls to get brackets
like yours, were they standard eqip.?

36f30 my f-20 brakets are smaller than the ones in the photo. Mine are mounted to that hole in frame just below mag. I think the ones on mine are original. I bought it from the original owner 40 years ago. I am right now going back through it again.

The cable guides in my pics are corn picker parts. The original equipment guides are as you describe and were standard equipment on all F20's and F30's.

Part # 15352DA and they look like this
