There's a guy in the new Red Power magazine listing a Super H-TA for $20,000. Serious offers only. Anyone looking for their check book?

I saw a nice one at RPRU, I have no issue with modified equipment. Just thinking it is worth more than a good 350 is the issue. Jim

I would have a hard time paying anything for a counterfit tractor,no matter how much work or paint went into it. My 2 cents , Tony

I would very much PREFER a nively restored 350, or even a good running 350 still in its' working clothes. That red and white paint scheme is very eye-catching.

Nothing really wrong with making a SHTA, as long as it is understood that it is not factory. I really don't consider it a fake as long as it is done right. But, I don't think it should be worth more than a SMTA in the same condition, perhaps even a little less since the casting dates don't match. BUT, the price is an agreement between the buyer and seller, and is basically none of our business unless one of us is the buyer or seller.

To my knowledge 4 prototype H-TA's were made from the factory however, its my understanding all were destroyed. If this is a factory H-TA that may bump up the price as compared to a modified H but I don't believe that's the case here.

I Should say the castings don't match! How can you even put it in same sentence as SMTA. If its not a fake describe Fake? Also much descussion in past at rpf and to my knowlowge none ever made. Its someones concept, Its intertaining to look at . Tony

They did make them, but they were destroyed. Now they are getting to be like DEMO cubs, a's etc.... people paint them (modify the H) then describe it as factory.

As long as it"s not represented as factory...who cares what he wants to call it...it"s a cool "what if" kinda like the John Deere G Regular I have seen kicking around, or the Super C crawler. It"s not counterfiet...it"s just not anything that came that way from the factory!
The comment about the White Demo tractors that are popping up all over is on the money...it used to be that people at least made sure the serial numbers were correct (early 1950) and would photgraphically document the white paint tehy found when stripping the tractor...made "em worth a couple maybe 500 more...now they want a fortune and don"t even attempt to make sure they have the right serial number range.
Do what ya want with "em, they are yours, but unless you could prove you actually found the "Sasquatch" of tractors: a true factory Super HTA then it"s a replica of what coulda been and no matter how much ya spent on it it aint worth no 20 grand...but then again i have seen a 5500 "rare" Super C on the ads so...

Here is a link to a discussion bout this topic along with a picture of one of the test tractors.

There was also some pictures posted about the same time of the actual parts after disassembly for inspection. Thanks to Wardner for digging up and posting the pictures.

I said the castings don't match. As to the same sentence, the SHTA, if done properly is likely (no proof) the same as the SHTA IH would have built, with the same quality if built by someone who knows what they are doing. If I had the time and money, I would do one, without trying to fake anyone out. But, that is not going to happen. It's not a fake it is a real tractor, just not one put together by IH.

I'm still looking for a 340 and a "parts" C so I can build a Super C-TA...Now I think THAT would cause some folks to rub their eyes and turn their heads...BESIDES the fact that it'd be a useful little tractor.

How about a Farmall 330?

That would be a 330U/340 engine with a Farmall 350 transmission and rear end.
