The tractor is 57 or 58 years old, and you're expecting parts to be available like it's a brand new pickup truck... I think that's a bit unreasonable.

Of course you can buy a kit of four... The RIGHT way to fix the engine is to rebuild all four cylinders, not just the sleeve on one.

There aren't too many people these days who are just trying to patch up an engine like you are. When you don't have a demand for a certain item, you stop making it available.

Have you talked to an engine machine shop? They might be able to get a sleeve for you.

well if you go to the dentist with a bad tooth you get it fixed you dont fix all of them just because there the same age and might be something wrong later.

Your teeth are not whirling around at 1800RPMs and being subjected to small explosions on every other revolution, either... Your teeth aren't going to shake themselves apart if one chews a little harder than the rest...

Frankly if you want to be a jerk about it, go ahead and scrap the tractor. Makes mine worth more.

The only reason he is having a hard time finding a sleeve is that he is looking for a standard sleeve for a C-169. Not a lot of those engines built and the overbore is the same as the standard -175. Not much call for the standard stuff when the newer size will fit. That may change if more people start wanting to restore those engines back to the original configuration. 30 years ago standard bore parts for the H and M were not too plentiful and there were a lot more of them made.

LA Sleeve (on the net) can provide you with the sleeve. They will make one if it is not in stock! Jim
