Flex fuel line

Anybody use the flexible fuel line for the old farmalls? I need to replace the line on the super C and I was thinking about going this rought. Seems easier to thread on, something I sometimes struggle with. :?

Just wondering if they are any good. Thanks!

Flex stainless braid covered line is OK in my opinion but not as good as steel. Rubber like Fuel hose is not good. A gravity system has fuel pressure at all times (not much, but it is there) a burnt hose drains the entire tank crisping the entire tractor. A steel line will not leak for far longer, allowing a small fire to be extinguished. Copper is the worst of all as it work hardens and cracks off easily. Jim

I installed one of the flexible rubber ( made for the purpose) fuel lines on my H this spring. The H is equipped with a belly mower, so it does get a lot of use. The flexible fuel line was easy to install, didn't have to fight with it to stop any leaks, and it performs flawlessly with absolutely no indications of deteriation. I also just recently installed the same rubber fuel line on my M, again with no problems, but it has not yet been put to any real test.

i had the flexible rubber fuel line from i think farmall parts dot com on my farmall h. it worked great. again soooo much easier to install than hard fuel lines. i only put a solid line in for originality purposes otherwise i would have kept the rubber one.

just to add, that round circle in the original fuel lines is for vibration purposes to prevent cracking.

Exactly. It also allows for expansion and contraction, from warm weather/cool weather, to prevent stressing the connections.

I have had the same rubber fuel lines on two IH 140's for over 30 yrs with no problems. One of them lasted longer than the carburator.
