Anybody ever pull a H?Seems like they would be too guttless to pull much(i've pulled Ms quite a bit).Reason I ask is i have been offered an H puller. Is it worth messing with?or should I let it go?

I know of at least one H that will walk all over a John deere A and will make a Farmall M sit right up and take notice.

Yea with a little work and a few bucks you can become one of the most hated at the pulls. we did one up years ago for a guy with 806 pistons 350 head 350 manifold and a tricked out cam a 450 carb some dist. work and a pinto 4 speed trans hidden up under a fake belly pump and used the hyd rod to shift the pinto trans between 2 and 3.to split gears.

There is an older H that used to pull with our club that did very well. It was old so it could have a shorter drawbar because the PTO was closer to the tractor. It also was on cutoffs so it didn't have all that hub weight.

Stone boat or transfer sled? Ive seen them be pretty competitive, Mine is alright for what it is. 4000 4500 pound class maybe 5000 if its worked. I know of an H that would walk allover alot of m's and JD A's in the stone boat, But it has a creeper gear.

MAN, I LIKE that idea, Dan!

"Inherited" Dad's old H in a partially disassembled state, and I was intending to hunt down some 06/56 side rails so I could use a BD-240 IH truck engine in it. I've still got the S-10 4-speed with the cut-off grade 8 bolt locking the shift rail into 2nd gear, that I was gonna stick in the torque tube where the belly pump was, to keep the ground speeds close to what they originally were.. But Mom decided to sell the H "as-is," just to get it off her place.

So now I'm only half-heartedly looking for a "parts H" to do the project with. MY "war dept." says I already got too many other projects at the moment...and she's probably right.

Do just fine with a Super H, 18.4's on it with low gear, power to spare even up in 9000lb class.
Aside from that you can get them faily competive in the 4500 though 5500 classes
