Update on 826D start issue

826 started right up this am. Ran it most of the day
with about four stops & restarts. About 4 pm hit the
start button, it cranked about 2 seconds & all went
dead as if I let go of start button. Dash lights
blinked, but no grunt. Jumped it, (left bat + and
frame ground) nothing; wiggled cable connections &
tried it about a dozen times; on next try it started
like it should. Bad connection somewhere? Selenoid?
Amp light issue seemed to heal itself by warmup
time.

Start with taking apart all connections positive and ground......even the bolt that holds the ground strap to the tractor and clean up everything with a wire brush. Sounds like a bad ground connection.

The 1066 did this. Was the heavy batt. cable end that goes on the solenoid. Got eaten out into the lug & wouldn't make contact sometimes. Other times---perfect. I put a star lock washer on both sides of the lug after cleaning all surfaces.
You can check other connections as already mentioned.
