W-30 engine removal

I am in the process of trying to pull the engine and clutch assembly from my W-30. I hooked it up to the engine lift and lifted the whole front end. I got the front bolts and the two rear bolts. It appears there are two threaded alignment pins in the rear as well. I started to shear off some thread when I was lifting and tapping on them.

Do they slid through or are they attached to the block?

Also, are there any bolts under the motor? Perhaps the bracket where the wide front end wishbone attaches?

You need to clean up the threads on those pins and then put nuts on them, tightening the nuts down extracts the alignment pins. Supposed to be that easy, but sometimes they like to fight ya

The threaded "Bolts" are guide pins to insure and maintain the alignment of the engine and to take some stress off the mountings. Get a nut (Grade 8 or better preferred) and begin to screw it down (tighten the nut) and they will come straight up. You may have to add a couple of lock washers under the nut to get the pin all the way out. IHC used these pins often to maintain location and handle shear stress.

I do not believe there are any bolts under the engine but I will check my W-30 tomorrow and update my post.

The pressure plate may be rusted to the shaft so it may be better to unbolt the clutch before you slide the engine foreward. My W-12 was.

If they will not pull out you can drill them pretty easily. Also If you take the bolts out at the connection where the shaft coming out of the clutch joins the shaft going into the trans you can lift the engine straight up. It is a real bear to get the engine tilted and wiggled out otherwise. There are no hidden bolts under the engine.
