There is a 915 combine comming up for auction and was wondering if you guys had some general information on it. Is it a good combine? And what do they usually bring? I'm in pa and would like to do my corn, oats, and soy beans with it.

YES get a rotor machine for sure... you'll be SO SO much happier. There is a reason they still to this day run a rotor. :)

I wouldn't bother with it if I were you. I their day they were a pretty good combine but most of them or worn out and those combines did have a lot of parts that wore out frequently. The 1400 series that replaced the 15 series was a quantum leap ahead in technology and reliability.

On the other hand you should be able to get the entire combine for what the engine is worth...

I can't believe you guys are essentially dooming this piece of our heritage to the scrap pile by discouraging Randy2 from buying it to use! Here's a guy perfectly willing to keep a classic machine alive, and probably the only one at the auction thinking that way.

They were quite the machine in their day, and if it isn't just flat worn out, it'll still be a good machine. I'm guessing that your biggest competition at the auction will be the scrap iron buyers, so if you can outbid the scrappers, you'll have a nice, inexpensive machine.
