'35 F12 is in need of a valve job. I know that the usual places(Rice, Fordson House, etc.) have them but I know that someone had mentioned once before that a certain Chevy valve was able to be used. Anyone have information on this?

Are you sure you need new valves? A good machine shop should be able to grind them and the seats to match. The valves should be able to be ground at least three times before any thought of replacing them. Check with your machine shop.

Unless the valve is damaged, grind them or have them ground,to find out if they're serviceable. I wouldn't worry too much about the Chevy valves, F-12 valves and guides are available almost everywhere. Fritz

Yah, a few of them are junk. They are cracked on the seating lip. I was asking because Rice is out of them(what website says..I'll call to confirm) but they are also a bit pricey..Just looking to save a few bucks when I can by exploring options.

They used Chevrolet values when the engine to my O-12 was rebuilt 11 years ago, a fraction of the price of buying IH valves. I do not know what valves they were but the engine rebuilders measured the old valves and knew exactly what they were looking for. Engine runs very well.
