on the distributor i have the letters ah3 what does that go to? suppose to have letter n ?

IH distributors are (almost) all interchangable within the Number of cylinders.
The Differences are in the advance curves, and advance limits. These are determined by the shaft and flange on which the weights are attached, and the spring rates of the springs.
Someone on this forum has lists of the 3 digit codes, but much depends on what has been done to them, and if the springs are weak from rust, and shafts changeed. Jim

Lots of the letter series used that distributor, A,H,M etc. It originaly came with 40 degree advance, may or may not have that now.
More than a 450 should have. Built 8-53.
