Hello, new to the site.
Just purchased a C Farmall a couple of weeks ago.
It is a WF with a Arts Way 72" Belly mower.
After mowing awhile it Spits and Sputters and dies. Wait a few minutes and she fires right back up. It has been coverted to 12V. Any ideas?

You need to check for fire to your sparkplugs asap when the engine quits. Your coil may be getting weak when it warms up. If there's hot fire to your plugs I would check the gas flow from the tank to the carburetor. Disconnect the gas line at the carb and hold a clean container to catch the gas. If there's just a trickle you have blockage between the gas tank and carb. Could be dirt in the tank. Could be the screen behind the tube fitting where your gas line is connected. If there's good flow to your carb your carburetor probably needs a good cleaning by soaking in carb cleaner and blowing out all the jets with air. Hal

Sounds like fuel supply to me .Check filter screen both at bottom of tank and screen into carb ( if it has one ) You need a good flow of fuel by gravity to carb. If you have an inline filter get rid of it , it will not let enough fuel flow to carb.
Check float in carb . One trick I do in unscrew the plug at the bottom of the carb. Let the gas run out and see how much of a flow I have there .I have taken a fine wire and run up into carb and lifted the float to shut off fuel flow .JI ggle that several times to make sure there is no small piece of trash there .

Coil failure is often the issue. If the Previous owner used the original coil running it on 14 volts will make it heat up and go bad. If you can rest your hand on the coil when it stops, and it has a nice blue 1/4" spark, the coli is OK. If it is the original, it must have a ballast resistor in its input wire to lower the voltage to the 6 volt range. If it has a different coil, the coil must be "12volt for use with no external resistor" if it has a resistor, the coil should be 6volt, or say on it "12v for use with external resistor". Best of luck, Jim
