Starter Question

I have no idea if this helps you or not but I will take a shot. In the parts manual for the small offsets (A, B, SA) it lists a manufacturers parts number of 1107093 for the cranking motor. In the SC parts book it did not list a number. In the M parts book it lists a manufacturers number of 1107448. These are different from the IH numbers. I looked at three different starters out in the yard and all were painted over so heavily that I could not see a number. If the above does not help or if someone else does not know, give a yell and I will take out a wire brush and look for something else. :)

Thats not the Delco Remy # on all my Bs and As its like 1107021 this is for the original push button starters. Now the C and SA does have a different# as they are pull start and have the button sw mounted on the rear while the A and B have theirs on the front.

The H and M have a threaded stud so their Delco # is different than the SA and C. The A and B use the same 1107021

This is going on an F14. I looked up the number and the picture and description matches what came off.

Thanks for the additional info.

Does you starter going to come in from the front or is it coming in from the rear as the front ones do run left hand. I have left hand drives if you need one.

(quoted from post at 08:12:54 09/21/11) In from the rear. Hadn't thought about that, I bet the one I ordered will run backwards to what I need.

Starters mounted from the front will be listed as Clockwise rotation. Those that install from the back will be listed as CCW. Hold the starter so you are looking at the drive end and the way the drive turns determines whether it is a CW or a CCW starter.
