Farmall M belly pump oil capacity

I recently drained the oil in the belly pump on my M. I got about 3 quarts out of it but I'm not sure if that is the correct amount it should have. Thanks for any info.

Put 6 quarts in, then weld or braze a 1/8X10" rod to a slug punchout from the side of an electrical box (small size) The slug should fit on the fill hole stand pipe of the reservoir without falling in. This becomes a dip stick. Mark it at the level of the oil and all is well. The cap will screw on over it, so it is not lost. Many get lost, some fall into the reservoir harmlessly because the original IH part was just a similar rod through a washer with a smashed spot above and below the washer that often wore through the washer.
