have distrubitor and pump and char-lynn steering unit. what do i need for oil tank and pressure control

If the power steering is gonna be the only "load" on that pump, then ya don't need much storage at all; A 1/2 gallon tank is far and away enough capacity.

If on the other hand, you are planning on using something else on that pump's system, you'll need a priority valve to insure that the steering is always first at the feeding trough.

And in that case a larger tank as well.
