he sure is proud of that valve. he has a char lynn power steering kit on there, complete for 355.00 that dont seem bad at all.

No, ain't kidding. He/she might actually be a bit nuts. I've been through that store before. No rhyme or reason for those prices. Might as well be an other one of those "Everything's $1000 today" people that thing there doing everyone a favor, when their store/yard is full of shutt.

On top of that, I love the "1".

Not 300, not 340, but 341.

Apparently 342 would be too much, 340 would be too vague. 341 is just right.

I was at an auction recently that was dispersing a collection of Farmalls and Farmall parts. I saw a couple of those valves bring close to $300 a piece . . . .

Dang, the one hanging in my shed that
I took off my 53 Super H, has the hoses and rod too.
Maybe I should have him sell it for me :D
(just kidding, took it off to get it out of the way for cleaning,
painting. I'll get it back on one of these days)

Are these THAT scarce in the NJ area? Usually go for $50.00 to $125.00 around here.(Midwest)

I hope the antique tractor community would try and help keep things affordable.I never minded paying for parts on bit,but I dont like to see people take advantage.

IDK? Mixed emoitions on when it comes to buying old parts that they dont make anymore.I just dont want to see old tractors get priced out of the reach of the guys who actually use them, like me!

I can understand tractors like a Super MTA D or a one of a few made Case High clearance tractors costing alot, but tractors that they made over 1/2 million of shouldnt be going thru the roof or the parts for them!!!!

Okay, so I went by a JD dealership to look at a baler recently. The conversation with the salesman escalated into what Farmall Ms are worth. I said the bottom price for a decent running M would be about $800. His answer (which he stuck by) was $400. I fail to see how a working tractor would sell for below scrap price; what do you think?

I always see decent fully fuctional Ms going for about$1500 around here.

For $400.00,it would be in pretty sad shape!(Destroyed sheet metal, using oil,Hardly any rear tires left.)

Considering the guy's prices are all over the place, he may be just throwing prices out there rather than researching what the actual market value is.

Presented with evidence that his price is ridiculous, and a firm offer, he might change his tune. Has anyone tried?

Don't know why anybody wants one of those things. IH saw the light and started using multiple valves on the 300-400. I wouldn't add any remote hydraulic valve unless it had three spools. Heck, I just bought a good one for $60 on eBay last week.

What are you going to use a single double-acting valve for? Either you have a crappy gravity down loader or a good loader that needs two double-acting spools. It won't work with a log splitter because the lever is too far away. The early systems can't run motors due to overheat problems. People must be buying them for the "look" and willing to pay the price. I say "gouge 'em".

For my Super M,It works well on my 3"x8" double acting cylinder on my #16 plow and #37 disk, but I really dont know what else I would use it for?(MAYBE a 3 point hitch where I wanted pressure down??? IDK about that one???)

It is limited, but works great for that.I am not paying #341.00 for one !!!!! :)

Well, that seller has some pretty cool stuff, and the prices are all WAY too high. Sooner or later they will get the hint and the prices will come down.

At peak price a complete M would bring just over $500. (I bought one literally by the pound back in March). If it's decent and otherwise average I would think 800 to 1000.
