450 Tach drive

The tach quit working on the 450 but when you turn the cable by hand it works, making me think its the drive unit. Looking thru the archives here I see that they wear out often. My question is how do i get it apart to check??

Disconnect tach cable under dist. cap. You will find two stowe bolts on each side of were tach cable unscrews. Remove them and the drive gear and housing will pull out. The old style gear are hard to find and if you do find one they are salty. They make a new style housing& gear which is less money thn the old style gear.
