farmall m steering bracket

Putting power steering on my M using the Behlen steering unit. Was wondering if anyone has the bracket that goes from the steering box to the steering post or light bar on the M. Or can these be bought after market?

Not very likely you will find it on the aftermarket. You will have to either find a used original or make it.

Not hard to make. If you want dimensions, let me know.

Or I can deliver my bracket to a precision sheet metal fabricator and he will make an exact replica. Cost may be around $50 but no guarantees at this point.

If you are using a Behlen from a 400-450, you will need to add several inches to the input shaft plus a thread for the steering wheel. Use a cut off portion from the original "armstrong" shaft. I can get you dimensions on that too.
 
That was my plans. I got a Farmall 450 in the other day, and it has the Behlen power steering. That part of it worked great. So I was going to put that on my MTA until, like you said, all the shafts are different. So I'm going to put the whole power steering unit on Ebay and use the money to buy a Char-Lynn unit, so I can keep it all under the hood. Thanks for your response.
 
I like the look of the clunky Behlen out in the open. Why hide the premium and contemporary attachment? They work very well. The Char-Lynn didn't come out till a few years later. I think IH first used it on the 504 but it wouldn't surprise me if the 340 had it. But to each his own.
