Farmall M tires

Old M has 13.6X38 rear tires on it. Time for an upgrade. I don"t care if I have to switch rear rims because one is completely shot anyway. What"s your opinions on stepping up a size or two? 15.5"s? or 16.9"s? What tire looks the best? This tractor doesn"t do a whole bunch of plowing or anything, mainly just hay-rack rides, pulling some wagons around, choring etc. Do 16.9"s look too big? Is there any outlet for really good, matched used tires? Or am I going to have to bite the bullet on new ones?
Thanks

15.5's and 13.6's are the same hieght. 15.5 are wider of course. I have 14.9's on mine, they are a little higher and wider than 13.6's. 16.9 are too much tire for a M. They look strange and they kill power.

16.9.s are too big.!5.5s are ok,would look good. But really, what's wrong with 13.6s.They are just right ,my Ms have running that size forever with good results.

My M has the old 12.4x38 tires, and they have great traction with 3 sets of wheel weights.Definitely not 16.9x38. Kent

14.9 on my MD.
I think the size looks good.

Edit: Good luck finding good used tires these days.

I would recommend 13.6. 15.5 is OK if you like big tire look but 16.9 definitely looks too big IMHO.

Ya know, its kinda weird. I have 3 Ms, all with 13.6s, of course all from different years. None of the 3 look the same size to me. The newest set, which ws put on on 2000, look bigger than the ones that were put on in the mid 80s, and those look bigger than some that were put on in the 70s sometime. (Yep, those are pretty worn.)
