2 small holes in the bottom of Farmall 450 manifold

So I sandblasted my 450 manifold and was checking it over for cracks and noticed two holes on the bottom right behind the intake tube. It is thin there but these holes are nicely shaped and located exactly the same for both sides. Someone suggested they are water drain holes and someone else thought maybe a heat shield was rivited there for the carb. Does this sounds familiar to anyone? I was going to try and plug them. Any ideas as to how? They material thickness is too thin to tap and plug with pipe plugs.

Thanks,

They are no drain holes, they are hot air vent's to thaw the carb out when it's just about freezing out side. The m&h will frost up in 2 or 3 minutes.

...and I thought gene bender came up with some pretty good gems.

"Hot air vents..." That takes the cake.

Maybe if used with a block like the picture, but the blocks were for and fit the 400 gas manifold 362437R1. 450 came with 362437R2 manifold and no heater block was offered.
