Tried ether, no go. Tried warming intake air with hair dryer ( what the heck) no go.
Took out air filer, sprayed more ether, no go.
Got a crank case heater on engine now, will try again tomorrow. Beginning to think this is compression issue. Has to be right? How can we determine this easily. We don't want to loosen any bolt from 1960's if we don't have to. I don't want to make this worse by breaking glow plug, injector, ect... Speaking of glow plug, We ohm cked one, and it was bad. I suspect the all are bad. They are all orginal to tractor. Good power to them. I didn't want to start pulling wires off things just yet. Anything not fulled with since the tractor was new is more or less frozen tight. Tractor is not used much, my father in law is in early 70's and if we can't fix this ourselves, I suspect this tractor will become a barn fixture. I love this tractor myself, and want to see it going. Maybe more than my father in law.
PS One of the last time we used it, it just quit running while driving. We got it running again, and took it up to the barn. It has sat since then.

Glo plugs and ether is a BIG no-no, just one working could cause major problems. Crack a fuel return line and see if you are pumping fuel. How long did it set? Fresh fuel? good battery and cranking speed? way to many questions need answers to diagnose in a forum.

If you want it to run again you're going to have to crack some 40+ year old bolts loose. You might be surprised at what comes loose easily. Most anything on the engine should be okay due to the heat cycles of the engine.

Make sure you have fuel! Start with checking at the filters. Then at the pump and then at the injectors. Once you know you have fuel to the injectors and not fluid (water), fuel, make sure the return line isn't plugged. Went through this a couple of years ago on a guys AC 190. Tractor had been running and quit. So much condensation in the fuel tank that both sediment bowls were full of ice. After thawing it out got about 1/2 a gallon of water out of the tank.

Oh and fix the glow plugs!

Rick

I removed the screw that tells you the pump is full of fuel. It is at the top of the pump. Where is this return line? Someone else mentioned this. Thanks.
